Okay, so I’ve been a Formula 1 fan for years, always catching races on cable or, let’s be honest, ahem less-than-official streams. I finally decided to see what all the fuss was about with F1 TV Pro. Here’s how it went down.
The Sign-Up Process
First things first, I jumped onto the F1 TV website. It was pretty straightforward. I found the “Subscribe” button without too much trouble. Chose the F1 TV Pro option – that’s the one with all the live races, replays, and onboard cameras. I went for the annual subscription. I figured, if I’m gonna do it, might as well commit, right?
Diving into the Content
Once I was in, man, it was like a candy store for F1 nerds. I started with a replay of a classic race. The video quality was great. Then, I got hooked on the onboard cameras. Being able to switch between drivers mid-race? Awesome! It’s a completely different way to experience the race, seeing everything from the driver’s perspective.

Then came the live race weekend. This is where F1 TV Pro really shines. I could watch all the practice sessions, qualifying, and the race itself, all live and without commercials. I loved bouncing between the main feed and the driver trackers. I felt WAY more connected to the action than ever before.
Tech Check – Getting it to Work
I mostly watched on my laptop, but I also tried it out on my phone and tablet. The F1 TV app is pretty solid. No major glitches, easy to navigate. Casting to my TV was a little iffy at first. I had to fiddle with the settings, maybe restart the app once or twice, but eventually I got it working smoothly.
The Good, The Bad, and The…
- Good: The live races, replays, onboard cameras, driver trackers. Literally everything I wanted. The data, too. I could spend hours just looking at lap times and sector analysis.
- Good: Pre- and post-race shows offer great analysis and insights.
- Bad: Sometimes, the app would be a little slow to load. Not a deal-breaker, but noticeable.
- The…: Well I get some tech things once in a while, I will figure it out.
My Verdict
Honestly? For a die-hard F1 fan like me, F1 TV Pro is absolutely worth it. I get way more out of each race weekend now. I feel like I’m really seeing everything. If you just watch the occasional race, maybe it’s not for you. But if you’re serious about F1, I’d say go for it. I definitely don’t regret taking the plunge.
