Alright, guys, so I’ve been getting a ton of questions about whether you can play NBA 2K24 cross-generation, specifically between PS4 and PS5. I decided to put it to the test myself, so here’s the lowdown from my experience.
First, I booted up my trusty old PS4 and got NBA 2K24 running. Then, I had my buddy fire up his shiny new PS5 with his copy of the game. We both logged into our accounts and all that jazz.
Trying to Connect
- We went into the online multiplayer modes, trying to find each other.
- We spent a good chunk of time searching through the different game modes, hoping to see an option for cross-play.
- We’re looking for options, any hints, absolutely anything…nothing.
And, well…nothing. We couldn’t find a way to connect. It just wasn’t showing up as an option anywhere. We tried inviting each other directly, sending game requests, the whole nine yards. No dice.
So, from what I’ve personally experienced, it really doesn’t seem like you can play NBA 2K24 between PS4 and PS5. It’s a bummer. It’s a real pain. Seems like they want us current-gen console players to be out of luck. The PC players too, as I understand that is also excluded.
So yeah, that’s my experience. I searched, tried, and tested, but no cross-play for us PS4 and PS5 players in NBA 2K24, unfortunately.
