Alright, so I got curious the other day and fell down a rabbit hole trying to figure out who the “worst” NBA player in history is. It’s a silly question, really, because even the “worst” NBA player is still ridiculously good at basketball compared to, like, 99.9% of the world. But hey, it’s fun to think about.
First, I started just Googling around, you know, “worst NBA player ever” and stuff like that. I got a bunch of names, some I’d heard of, some I hadn’t. But it was all just opinions, nothing concrete.
Digging into the Stats
So then I thought, “Okay, let’s get a little more methodical.” I headed over to this basketball stats website and started looking at career stats. I figured low points per game, low field goal percentage, and high turnovers would be good indicators. You know, stuff that screams “not very good.”

I spent a good hour just scrolling through lists and lists of players, filtering by different stats. Man, there are a lot of guys who played in the NBA, even if it was just for a few games or a season or two.
- I focused on players with at least, say, 50 games played, just to get rid of the guys who barely got off the bench.
- I looked at guys with really low shooting percentages – like, under 35% from the field. Yikes.
- I paid attention to players,turnover rate.
After I sifted and it took me quite a lot of time,I finally got what I want!
Honestly, it’s all pretty subjective. But it was a fun little project, and it made me appreciate just how incredibly talented even the “worst” NBA players are.
