Okay, so I wanted to mess around with the mercy rule in Baseball 9, and I gotta say, it wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it’d be. Here’s how I finally figured it out, hopefully, it saves you some time.
First, I launched the game. Makes sense, right? You can’t change settings if you’re not even in the game.
Then, I looked for some kind of “Options” or “Settings” menu. I spent a good few minutes just poking around the main screen. It wasn’t super obvious.

Digging Through Menus
- I eventually found a little gear icon, that usually means settings, so I tapped that.
- Then, in there, there was no directly name about “Mercy rule”. I clicked into “Game” or “Gameplay”–something like that.
- I scrolled through a bunch of options. Still no “Mercy Rule.” I started to think maybe it wasn’t even a thing you could change!
Finally Finding It (I Think!)
So, here’s the deal, I am not sure I had played serveral games to level up to a certain level, I think the mercy rule setting is tied to the difficulty level. Meaning that the option to toggle on the “Mercy rule” is showed up.
I selected the “League” that I want to play, there’s an option to turn it on before a game starts, but you gotta set it before each game. Kinda annoying, but whatever.
I played a game with the mercy rule on, and yeah, it worked! Once I was up by enough runs, the game ended early. Sweet!
Honestly, it took a little bit of trial and error. The menus in Baseball 9 aren’t the most intuitive, but I got there in the end. Hope this helps anyone else trying to figure this out!
