Okay, so I was digging around the internet, trying to figure out how much those G League guys actually make. It’s kind of a mysterious topic, you know? Not as much hype as the NBA, obviously. So, I started my little investigation.
My Deep Dive into G League Salaries
First, I hit up Google. Just a basic search – “G League player salaries.” Lots of articles popped up, some from sports news sites, some from blogs, some looked, uh, less reliable. So, I had to do some filtering right from the start.
I avoided anything that looked like clickbait or just plain wrong. You gotta be careful with information online, right? I stuck to the bigger names, the sites I recognized.

Then, I started comparing what different sources were saying. Consistency is key. If three or four reputable sites were all saying roughly the same thing, I figured that was probably in the ballpark of being accurate.
I found that there are different types of contracts in the G League. It’s not just one simple number. Some players are on “standard” G League contracts. Others are “two-way” players, meaning they can bounce between the G League and the NBA. And then there are “Exhibit 10” deals, which are a bit more complicated.
So then I try find different contract’s detail:
- Standard Contracts: These seem to be the most basic, and from what I gathered, the pay is not very high.
- Two-Way Contracts: These guys make significantly more. Because they also can play NBA.
- Exhibit 10 Contracts: These are kind of in-between. It’s like a training camp contract with a bonus if the player ends up on the G League team.
It’s definitely not NBA money, but it’s a living. And for a lot of these guys, it’s about the chance to develop and maybe, just maybe, get that call-up to the big leagues.
I kept notes of all the numbers and different contract details. Because My brain is not good enough to remember these all. Gotta write it all down!

So, that’s my journey into the world of G League salaries. It’s not super straightforward, but with a little digging, you can get a pretty good idea of what these players are earning.
