Okay, so I wanted to figure out what pro boxers actually make. It’s not like they post their salaries online, you know? So, I had to do some digging.
My Little Research Project
First, I hit up Google. I mean, where else do you start? I typed in stuff like “average boxer salary” and “pro boxer income.”
I found some interesting numbers from a couple of places.

- One was a study done a few years back, saying the “median” income – that’s like, the middle number – was around $51,370 a year.
- Figured,I have gotten a number.
- Then, I saw another website saying the average hourly rate for a pro boxer is about $33, which works out to be something like $68,041 a year.
- I felt it is not so bad,but it’s just an average number, right?
Trying to See the Whole Picture
So,after searching and reading.I got the basic number range of the * the number is not so convincing for people and it’s not the whole picture for a career.I need to find more to support my understanding.
What I really wanted to know is: how did they come up with these numbers? I mean, do they just ask a bunch of boxers? Are these official numbers? I needed to find it out.
- So I start to check the source of the information.
- One is from Bureau of Labor Statistics, looks like a formal organization.
- And another called ZipRecruiter, seems like a job website.
- I guess maybe it’s * I am not 100% sure.
