Alright, let’s talk about why my man Reggie Miller isn’t in NBA 2K24. I mean, the guy’s a legend, right? One of the best shooters the game has ever seen. So, what’s the deal?
I started digging into this the other day. First thing I did was fire up the game, naturally. I scrolled through all the classic teams, the historic players, you name it. No Reggie. I thought, “Okay, maybe I missed something,” so I checked again. Still no Reggie.
Next, I hit up the internet. I figured there had to be something about it online, some explanation. I started with some basic searches, like “Reggie Miller NBA 2K24.” I found a bunch of videos promising a “Reggie Miller build,” showing you how to create a player that kinda, sorta plays like him. I watched a few, and they were alright, I guess. They talked about his agility, his off-ball movement, and, of course, his shooting ability. But it wasn’t the same as having the actual Reggie Miller in the game.

Then I stumbled upon some forums and discussions. Some folks were saying it had to do with licensing issues. Apparently, 2K Sports needs to get the rights to use a player’s likeness, and maybe they couldn’t reach an agreement with Reggie. I even read somewhere that 2K Sports pays the NBA Retirement Association, but maybe Reggie wasn’t part of that deal. I don’t know how true that is, but it made some sense.
Here’s what I found out:
- There are no official statements from 2K or Reggie Miller about his absence.
- Fans are creating their own “Reggie Miller builds” to try and fill the void. I did create mine, too, but it’s very hard to simulate my idol’s style.
- There’s a whole community of people who miss having him in the game. #nba2k24 #2kcommunity #gameplayTrue.
So, where does that leave us? Well, we’re still without Reggie Miller in NBA 2K24. It’s a bummer, for sure. Maybe things will change in the future, and we’ll see him back in the game. But for now, we’ll have to make do with our custom-built players and our memories of watching the real Reggie light up the court.
It’s a shame, really. But hey, that’s how it goes sometimes. We can still appreciate Reggie’s greatness, even if he’s not in our favorite video game. And who knows, maybe one day we’ll get to play as him again. Until then, I’ll keep shooting threes and pretending I’m Reggie, just like the old days.
