Okay, here is my sharing about how early to get to a baseball game based on my experience:
So, I went to a baseball game last weekend. It was a big game, lots of people were expected. I wasn’t sure how early I should get there, so I did a little digging around. I found some stuff online saying you should get there super early, like two hours before the game starts. That sounded a bit much to me, but I figured it’s better to be safe than sorry.
I got to the stadium about an hour and a half before the first pitch. I drove to the stadium. Parking wasn’t too bad, I guess most people hadn’t shown up yet. I got inside, and the place was pretty empty. It was kinda cool seeing the stadium like that, all quiet and stuff.

I walked around, checked out the food stands. They had all the usual stuff, hot dogs, burgers, the works. I grabbed a hot dog and a drink, and found my seat. I had a pretty good view, so that was nice. I settled in and just chilled for a while, watching the players warm up.
Here’s what I learned from my little experiment:
- Getting there early is actually pretty chill. No crazy lines, no rushing around.
- You can actually enjoy the stadium before it gets packed. I got to walk around, check things out, and not feel like I was in a sardine can.
- An hour and a half is probably a good sweet spot. You beat the rush, but you’re not sitting there twiddling your thumbs for hours.
My two cents
If it’s a really big game, maybe go a little earlier, like two hours. But for a regular game, an hour and a half should do the trick. You get to soak in the atmosphere, grab some food, and not stress out. That’s just my experience, though. Your mileage may vary. Oh, I also noticed that the distance between bases is about 90 feet. It is said that the distance is concluded after trials.
So there you have it, folks. That’s my take on how early to get to a baseball game. Hope this helps someone out there!
