Alright, so I was thinking about this thing the other day – which is harder to get into, the NFL or the NBA? I mean, both of these are like, super tough, right? But I really wanted to figure out which one is actually harder.
First off, I started digging around to see what other folks were saying. Seems like this is a pretty hot topic. I found some people saying that getting into the NBA is way harder because there are fewer teams and fewer spots on each team. Makes sense, right?

But then, I also found folks arguing that the NFL is tougher because of the physical demands and the sheer number of people trying to get in. I mean, football is rough, and there are a ton of college players dreaming of going pro.
- Looked up some numbers: I found some stats saying that only like 1.6% of college football players make it to the NFL. That’s crazy low!
- Compared it to the NBA: The numbers for basketball were even scarier. It’s like, way less than 1% of college players get drafted.
So, after all that digging, I was still kind of on the fence. Both seemed super hard, but in different ways.
Made a simple conclusion
Then I thought, maybe it’s not just about the numbers. Maybe it’s also about what kind of skills you need and what kind of person you are. Like, if you’re huge and super strong, maybe the NFL is a better fit. If you’re crazy coordinated and have mad skills with a basketball, then maybe the NBA is the way to go.
Then I thought, let’s take a look at some examples. I heard that Jason Kelce, a famous football player, said it is harder to play in the NBA. He was even a ticket holder for the Cavs!
Honestly, after all this, I’m still not 100% sure which one is harder. But I guess the real takeaway is that both the NFL and the NBA are incredibly tough to get into. It takes tons of talent, hard work, and probably a good amount of luck, too. No matter which sport you choose, it’s a tough road to the pros.
