I’ve been a football fanatic for years, and NFL Sunday Ticket has always been my go-to for catching all the out-of-market games. But sometimes, life gets in the way, and I can’t always watch the games live. So, I wanted to see if I could record them. I started this little experiment to figure it out.
Figuring Out How to Record
First, I did what anyone would do – I tried using my old DVR. I found the games I wanted, and hit the “Record” button. Seemed simple enough, right? I mean, it has always worked before with other stuff. Then I quickly learned that, oh boy, it’s not so simple. After a few minutes of browsing around I discovered that NFL Sunday Ticket offers unlimited DVR storage, well that is neat. So I went to check on the recording, and bam, it was there.
My Recording Steps
Here’s what I ended up doing:

- Setting up the recording: I had to add the NFL and individual teams to my YouTube TV library. This was pretty straightforward.
- Picking the games: I chose the games I wanted from the schedule and set them to record. I felt like a kid in a candy store, I could record everything!
- Testing it out: I recorded a couple of games to see if it worked. It felt like waiting for Christmas morning, checking to see if the recordings were there. And they were! Success!
Multiview Shenanigans
I also stumbled upon this cool “multiview” feature. It lets you watch multiple games at once. You just select a game and choose “Watch in multiview,” then add another game. It’s pretty awesome, but you can’t record these multiview setups. I tried, just to be sure, but no luck. I guess you can’t have everything. Maybe one day they’ll add that, who knows?
Final Thoughts
So, yeah, you totally can record NFL Sunday Ticket games, and it’s a lifesaver for a busy fan like me. The unlimited DVR is amazing, and even though I can’t record multiview, I’m still pretty happy with it. Now I can watch the games whenever I want, even if it’s a day or two later. This is how I did it, you can try it, it’s really easy!
