Well, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this Dodge and NASCAR thing. Folks been whisperin’ and yakkin’ about it, like hens in a henhouse. Is Dodge comin’ back to NASCAR or what? That’s the question, ain’t it?
I heard some fellas sayin’ it ain’t happenin’, not now anyways. Some big shot reporter, Adam Stern, I think his name was, from that Sports Business Journal, he said them talks between Dodge and NASCAR, well, they just petered out. Dodge, they sayin’ they wanna stick with that NHRA racin’ stuff, not messin’ with nothin’ else right now. Sounds like they got their hands full already.
Now, I ain’t no fancy car expert, but I know a thing or two about stickin’ to your guns. If Dodge says they ain’t comin’ back, well, maybe they just ain’t. But then again, them car folks, they change their minds quicker than a rooster in a dogfight.

Heard some talk about them new Dodge cars comin’ out, though. Them Daytona R/T and Scat Pack thingamajigs. Some folks sayin’ they’ll be out late 2024, early 2025. Maybe that’s got somethin’ to do with it, maybe not. Who knows what them big city fellas are thinkin’?
Some other fellas, they sayin’ if Dodge really wants to get back in NASCAR, they gotta get a move on. Can’t just sit around twiddlin’ their thumbs, you know? Gotta put some elbow grease into it, like my old man used to say. This was said late 2022 according to a report from Sports Business Journal. Seems like they been draggin’ their feet a bit, if you ask me. But then again, nobody asked me, did they?
I even heard tell that back in November, someone was givin’ a big speech about the state of racin’ and all that. Maybe they talked about Dodge then, maybe they didn’t. I wasn’t there, so I can’t say for sure. Just hearin’ things, you know how it is.
So, what’s the bottom line? Well, it sounds like Dodge ain’t comin’ back to NASCAR right this minute. They sayin’ the talks are stalled, whatever that means. Maybe they’ll change their minds later, maybe they won’t. It’s all a bunch of he said, she said, if you ask me.
But I’ll tell ya what, if Dodge does decide to come back, it’ll be a hoot. Them NASCAR races are somethin’ else, all them cars zoomin’ around, makin’ a racket. It’s like a bunch of angry bees in a tin can. But it’s excitin’, I gotta admit. Gets your blood pumpin’, even if you’re just watchin’ on the TV.
So, we’ll just have to wait and see, I guess. Keep our ears open, listen to the whispers and the rumors. Maybe one day we’ll see them Dodge cars back on the track, racin’ with the best of ’em. Or maybe we won’t. That’s the way things go, ain’t it? You just never know what’s gonna happen next.
But one thing’s for sure, if Dodge does come back, I’ll be watchin’. I might even put on my fancy hat and pretend I know somethin’ about racin’. Don’t tell nobody I said that, though. They might think I’m gettin’ soft in my old age.
Anyways, that’s all I know about this Dodge and NASCAR business. Not much, I reckon, but it’s somethin’. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on them chickens. Them critters are always gettin’ into somethin’.
