Alright, let’s talk about this NBA 2K24 game, the one all the youngsters are yappin’ about. They keep askin’ me, “Is it gonna be fancy-schmancy next-gen on the computer?” Well, hold your horses, I’ll tell ya what I heard.
First off, they say this Kobe Bryant fella is on the cover. Good basketball player, I reckon, though I don’t know much about these modern fellas. Anyways, they’re sellin’ this game for 60 bucks on the computer, which sounds like a whole lotta money to me. Back in my day, you could get a whole sack of potatoes for that much!
Now, about this next-gen stuff. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but the kids seem to care. From what I gather, the computer version ain’t gonna be all fancy like those new PlayStations and Xboxes. Nope, it’s gonna be like the old ones, the PS4 and Xbox One. They call it “old-gen,” I think. So, no, the computer ain’t gettin’ the fancy next-gen treatment. That’s what they’re sayin’ anyways.

They got this thing called “ProPLAY” in the game now. Sounds like they made the players move more real-like. But here’s the kicker, you only get that fancy ProPLAY stuff on the new PlayStations and Xboxes. The computer version? Nope, you’re stuck with the old way of doin’ things. Kinda like how my old wringer washer still gets the clothes clean, but it ain’t nothin’ like those newfangled machines.
- Game’s out on September 8th, for all them PlayStations, Xboxes, and even that Nintendo thingamajig.
- Computer version costs 60 dollars.
- No next-gen for PC, it’s the old version.
- Fancy features like ProPLAY ain’t on the computer.
Now, some folks are sayin’ you can play it on somethin’ called the “Cloud.” Sounds like magic to me, playin’ a game without even havin’ it on your machine. But even then, it ain’t gonna be next-gen on the computer, not yet at least. They say maybe, just maybe, they’ll add it later, like they did with that football game, Madden or somethin’. But don’t hold your breath, I say. These things take time, like a good apple pie bakin’ in the oven.
So, if you’re plannin’ on playin’ this NBA 2K24 on your computer, don’t expect it to be all bells and whistles. It’ll be the same old game, just like on the old PlayStations. It ain’t the end of the world, mind you. You can still play basketball, can’t ya? It’s like playin’ with an old basketball, it might not be as bouncy as a new one, but it still gets the job done.
I heard some folks are upset about this. They wanted the fancy graphics and all that jazz on their computers. Well, life ain’t always fair, I tell ya. Sometimes you get the short end of the stick. It’s like when I was young, we didn’t have all these fancy tractors, we had to do things the hard way. And you know what? We still got the crops in. So, maybe this old-gen version ain’t so bad after all.
Anyways, that’s the gist of it. No next-gen for the computer, just the old version. If you want the fancy stuff, you gotta get yourself one of them new PlayStations or Xboxes. But if you just wanna play some basketball, the computer version will do just fine. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens.
And remember, don’t go spendin’ all your money on these games. Save some for a rainy day, ya hear? You never know when you might need it. Life throws you curveballs sometimes, just like in baseball, or is it basketball they’re talkin’ about? Anyways, you get my point.
