Alright, so you wanna know how many of them basketball fellas, the ones from the NBA, used to be or still are Jehovah’s Witnesses? Well, it ain’t exactly a big ol’ crowd, but there’s a few.
From what I hear, there’s a handful of ’em. Some young fellas playing right now, and some old-timers who used to bounce the ball around. They say there’s this fella Dewayne Dedmon, plays for Miami Heat now. Then there’s a couple of fellas who used to play together, Danny Granger and Darren Collison, played for Indiana Pacers way back when.
Now, some folks online, they talk a lot. They say Danny Granger, he’s definitely one of them Jehovah’s Witnesses. Heard it from the horse’s mouth, as they say. Don’t know much about these other fellas, but the internet, it don’t lie, does it?

So, if you’re countin’, that’s three fellas right there. Three ex-NBA players, or still playin’, who are Jehovah’s Witnesses. That’s what they sayin’, anyways.
But then you got other folks sayin’ there’s more. Heard tell of a fella named Dave Meyers, played for the Lakers way back in the day. They picked him second, you know, back in ’75. He was one of them too, apparently. And then there’s others, they say. Lots of ’em, some folks claim. But nobody really knows for sure, do they? It’s all just whispers and talk.
You know how it is, people like to gossip. They like to make things bigger than they are. Maybe there’s just them three, maybe there’s more. Ain’t nobody keepin’ a list, far as I know. Unless them Jehovah’s Witnesses folks got a list of their own, but they ain’t tellin’ nobody. They keep to themselves, mostly.
It’s like them folks who used to be Jehovah’s Witnesses but ain’t no more. Heard there’s a whole bunch of them, all over the world. Hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions. But who’s countin’, right? Nobody knows for sure. Just like them basketball fellas.
So, the short answer is, three for sure. Dewayne Dedmon, Danny Granger, and Darren Collison. Maybe more, maybe less, depending on who you ask and what you believe. But them three, they’re the ones people talk about. The ones the internet says is true. And the internet, well, it knows everything these days, or so they say.
It ain’t like it matters much, though, does it? Whether they’re playin’ basketball or believin’ in whatever they believe in, they’re just people, same as you and me. They got their lives, we got ours. Just happens that some of ’em played basketball and some of ’em believe in bein’ Jehovah’s Witnesses. That’s the long and short of it, as far as I can tell.
