Hey guys, so today I was kinda curious about something and decided to dig into it. The question that popped into my head was, “Who’s the shortest dude to ever play in the NBA?” I mean, we always see these giants on the court, right? So, I figured there must be some shorter guys who made it too. I went ahead and started my little investigation.
First, I just googled “shortest NBA player ever” and, bam, a bunch of stuff came up. It was kinda overwhelming at first, to be honest. But, I kept at it. I skimmed through a few articles and started seeing a name that kept popping up: Muggsy Bogues.
- I read that this guy, Muggsy, is only 5’3″! Can you believe that? 5’3″ and playing in the NBA with all those super tall players!
- Then I found out that there have been other short players too, like nine guys who were 5’7″ or shorter, but Muggsy was the shortest of them all.
- I also stumbled upon a list of the “10 Shortest Players in the History of the NBA” and, guess what, Muggsy was right there at the top.
So, I focused my search on Muggsy Bogues. I found some more specific details about him. His full name is Tyrone Curtis Bogues, and he’s also known as Muggsy. I even saw that he has a Twitter account, though I didn’t check it out.

After all this digging around, it became pretty clear. Muggsy Bogues holds the record for being the shortest player in NBA history. It’s so cool to think about how he managed to play at such a high level despite his height. This little project of mine turned out to be pretty interesting. It just goes to show that size isn’t everything in basketball, or maybe in life, you know? This whole thing was a fun little dive into NBA history, and I’m glad I did it.
