Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about somethin’ important today, somethin’ about them fellas playin’ that football on TV, the NFL. You know, the big guys, runnin’ around, smashin’ into each other. Folks keep askin’, where do all them boys come from? Which place is pumpin’ out the most of ’em?
Well, I heard tell, and it seems right to me, that Texas is the king of the hill when it comes to makin’ NFL players. Yep, Texas. That big ol’ state down south. They say Texas got more of them boys in the NFL than any other place. Makes sense, I guess. They love their football down there, just like we love our… well, never you mind what we love.
Now, some other places ain’t too shabby neither. Heard tell of Florida bein’ right up there too. And that California place, with all them fancy folks, they got a bunch of football players too, I reckon. Seems like the warm places, where the sun shines bright and the grass grows thick, that’s where these boys get their start.

- Texas: Lots and lots of players. The most, they say.
- Florida: Not as many as Texas, but still a whole bunch.
- California: Them city slickers play football too, who knew?
But here’s the thing, some smart fella on the TV, he was talkin’ ’bout how it ain’t just about the total number. He was sayin’ you gotta look at how many folks live in a place, and then see how many players come from there. That’s what he called “per capita,” whatever that means. Sounds fancy, huh?
Anyway, he was sayin’ that if you look at it that way, some smaller places do pretty good. He mentioned Washington D.C., and then he said somethin’ about southern states again. I guess them little towns, they got a lot of heart, and they turn out some mighty fine football players, even if they don’t have as many folks as Texas.
Now, I ain’t no expert, mind you. I’m just tellin’ you what I heard. But it seems to me that Texas is the place to be if you wanna be a football star. Or maybe Florida. Or even California, if you can stand all them fancy cars and whatnot. But don’t count out them smaller places neither. They got some tough boys too.
And then there’s those places where you won’t find a single NFL player. Can you believe it? Alaska, Vermont, Delaware and New Hampshire, they ain’t got nobody in the big leagues right now. Guess they’re too busy doin’ other things, like… well, whatever they do up there in the cold.
But the main thing is, these football players, they come from all over. Big cities, small towns, all kinds of places. They work hard, they train hard, and they make us proud. So next time you’re watchin’ a game, remember where them boys come from. Remember Texas, and Florida, and all them other places that make America’s favorite game so great.
So, if you gotta put your money on one place, go with Texas. They got the most, plain and simple. But don’t forget them other states, and don’t forget that even the smallest towns can produce some of the toughest players. That’s what makes football so special, you see. It’s a game for everyone, no matter where you come from.
