Okay, so the other day I was down a rabbit hole of old boxing matches, and of course, Evander Holyfield came up. The dude’s a legend, but I realized I couldn’t easily list out all his losses. So, I decided to fix that.
First, I hit up my usual spots – you know, general search engines. I typed in stuff like “Evander Holyfield losses,” “Holyfield record,” and things like that. The results were okay, gave me some names and dates, but it wasn’t organized super well.
Then I thought to myself, “What are the best boxing related website?” It returned a few good ones. I spent some time digging through those.
After gathering all this info from different places, I started putting it all together. It was a real jigsaw puzzle! Some sites had partial info, some had conflicting dates…it was a mess. I double-checked everything, going back and forth between sources to make sure I got it as accurate as possible.
My Organized List
Here’s the list I put together. It took some work, but now It’s clear and easy to read:
- Riddick Bowe: I found out Holyfield lost to him twice.
- Michael Moorer: He lost to him once.
- Lennox Lewis: He lost to him once, and they also had a draw.
- John Ruiz : He lost to him once.
- James Toney:He lost to him once.
- Larry Donald:He lost to him once.
- Chris Byrd:He lost to him once.
- Sultan Ibragimov:He lost to him once.
- Nikolai Valuev: He lost to him once.
- Vitor Belfort:He lost to him once.
I’m pretty confident I’ve got a complete and accurate list now. It was a bit of a pain to compile, but hey, now I have a solid reference whenever I need it. Plus, it was a good excuse to rewatch some classic fights!
