Today, I was kinda bored and started wondering about the most basic things. Like, what color IS a football, anyway? Seems like a no-brainer, but I figured I’d actually look into it.
My Deep Dive into Football Colors
First, I grabbed the nearest football I could find – it was my son’s old one, kinda deflated and forgotten in the corner. It was definitely brown. But was that the color? I needed more data.
So, I fired up my trusty laptop and hit Google. I just typed in “what color is a football?” You know, keeping it simple.

- I scrolled through a bunch of images, and yeah, most of them were brown. Like, a classic, leathery brown.
- Then I started reading some articles. Apparently, this brown color is pretty standard, especially for the NFL ones. They even have a specific name for it, something fancy.
- Then I started seeing diffent types of * ones with the white stripes, those are usually used in official games, I think.
- Lastly, I checked that there are even diffent color of football for playing, like white, red.
So, after all that “research” (aka, looking at pictures and skimming articles), I’ve confirmed my initial thought. A football is, generally, brown. But the ones with white are also correct! Case closed!
