I started by just watching fights. Not just the highlight reels, everyone’s seen those. I mean full fights, one after another. YouTube is a goldmine for this, seriously. I dug through his early career, the stuff before he even became a household name. I watched him obliterate guys, I mean, just destroy them. It was brutal, it was fast, and it was…kinda scary, honestly.
Then I moved onto the championship fights. The Spinks fight – 91 seconds! That’s shorter than some commercial breaks! I watched the Trevor Berbick fight where he became the youngest heavyweight champ. The power, the speed, the ferocity… it was something else.
