Okay, so I was kinda curious about something the other day and decided to dig into it. I wanted to figure out which NFL stadiums actually have domes. You know, those covered ones that keep the weather out. I mean, it’s a pretty simple question, but I figured it’d be fun to find out the answer.
So, I started my little investigation, and I found out some cool stuff. It turns out there are actually ten stadiums in the NFL that have either a dome or a roof.
Here is what I found.

I started by reading up on one of these places. Turns out, it’s called State Farm Stadium, and it’s where the Arizona Cardinals play. This place is in Glendale, Arizona, and it’s pretty fancy. They’ve got a roof that can open and close, and they even have real grass on the field! Plus, it can hold a ton of people, like over 63,000 for regular games and even more for big events.
Then I dug a little deeper and found out about this other place called the NRG Astrodome, which used to be in Houston. It was actually the first stadium with a dome ever built for sports! They used to fit around 50,000 people in there, but it seems like they had way more than that, like 68,000, at one point.
I also found out about a few more of these domed stadiums. Like there’s Ford Field in Detroit, which was built in 2002, and U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota, built in 2016. And there’s this one called Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, too.
My list
- State Farm Stadium
- NRG Astrodome
- Ford Field
- U.S. Bank Stadium
- Allegiant Stadium
- AT&T Stadium
So yeah, that’s what I found out about NFL stadiums with domes. It was a fun little project, and now I know a bit more about these places.
