Alright, so I’ve been wanting to get into boxing for a while now, not to go pro or anything, but just to get in shape and learn something new. I did some digging around and found out that if you want to train in a legit boxing gym, you gotta register with USA Boxing. It seemed a bit intimidating at first, but I figured it out, so I thought I’d share my experience in case anyone else is in the same boat.
First thing I did was to find a USA Boxing registered club near me. There’s a tool for that, and once you see it, you will see it’s not hard to use. I put in my state, and boom, a list of gyms popped up. I recognized a couple of them, which was cool. Picked one that was relatively close and had good reviews, and that’s where I decided to start.
Then I headed over to the USA Boxing website. The whole registration thing is done online, which is super convenient. They call it the “Webpoint TM Membership System”. I know, sounds fancy, but it’s just a website where you sign up.

Once I got there, I clicked around and found the registration page. It asked for the usual stuff – name, address, date of birth, you know the drill. There’s also a section where you gotta choose your membership type. They have a bunch of options, like for athletes, coaches, officials, and even just for fitness. I went with the “Fitness” membership because, like I said, I’m not trying to compete, just want to work out and learn the ropes.
I filled out all the forms. They asked if I was part of a college team or military, but that wasn’t me, so I just skipped that part. There was also some stuff about rules and regulations. I skimmed through it, it seemed pretty standard. Then I hit submit, paid the membership fee – it wasn’t too bad – and that was it. I was officially registered with USA Boxing.
After that, I received a confirmation email with my membership number and some other info. I also got access to their online portal where they have resources for training, nutrition, and stuff like that. I haven’t explored it much yet, but it looks pretty useful.
Tips from my experience
- Don’t be afraid to ask. If you are confused, you can reach out for answers.
- Read carefully. Especially the membership types. Make sure you choose the one that fits your goals.
- Just do it. It might seem like a big deal, but it’s really just a few forms and a payment. Once you’re registered, you can start training and enjoying the benefits of boxing.
So yeah, that’s how I registered for USA Boxing. It wasn’t as complicated as I thought it would be. Now I can finally start training at that gym I found. I’m pretty stoked about it. If you’re thinking about getting into boxing, I say go for it. The registration process is easy, and from what I’ve heard, it’s totally worth it.
