So, I’ve always been a huge boxing fan, right? The thrill of the match, the energy of the crowd, it’s just something else. I finally decided to go all in and experience a big-time fight live. The whole process started with me just daydreaming about it, honestly. I spent hours just picturing myself ringside.
First thing I did was hit up the internet. I mean, where else do you start these days? I typed in “how much is boxing tickets” into the search bar and, man, was I in for a ride. The results were all over the place. It really depends on who’s fighting, where they’re fighting, and how badly you want those seats. I saw that prices went from “Hey, that’s doable” to “Whoa, are you kidding me?” in the blink of an eye.
I came across this one fight, Tyson vs. Paul, that caught my attention. I read somewhere that the cheapest tickets were going for around 78 bucks. Not too bad, I thought. But those were the nosebleeds, way up in the upper deck. And then I saw the prices for floor seats… let’s just say they were a bit out of my budget.

Then there was this whole thing about needing a Netflix subscription to even stream the event. Apparently, if you’re already subscribed, you’re golden. But if not, you’re looking at shelling out a few extra bucks for a monthly subscription. It’s way cheaper than those pay-per-view events, though, so that’s a plus.
And then I learned about ESPN+! If I had that subscription, I could buy select boxing events for about 50 bucks each. Sounded alright, but I don’t watch enough sports to justify getting ESPN+, you know?
I browsed through a bunch of websites, just trying to get a feel for the whole ticketing process. Some sites were selling tickets for hundreds, even thousands of dollars! I even saw some tips on how to get tickets for free, but they seemed kind of shady, so I steered clear of those.
I read comments from people saying that ticket prices, especially post-pandemic, were insane. Someone was even saying promoters and venues were making bank off of this. I even read that there are some tips about getting tickets for free, but I really don’t want to try.
After digging around for a while, I realized that scoring decent seats without breaking the bank is like winning a mini-lottery. It takes time, patience, and maybe a little bit of luck. I’m still on the hunt for the perfect ticket, but hey, the journey’s half the fun, right? At least now I know what I’m getting myself into.
I did end up scoring a ticket to a smaller, local fight though! It wasn’t Tyson or anything, but it was still a blast. The energy in the room was electric, and I got to see some up-and-coming fighters. It wasn’t the mega-fight experience I initially dreamed of, but it was a great start, and it definitely fueled my passion even more.
