Okay, so, I’ve been a die-hard fan of my team for years now. You know, the whole nine yards – jerseys, hats, the ridiculously expensive foam finger, the works. Naturally, I jumped at the chance to become a season ticket holder a couple of seasons back. It felt like joining the inner circle, you know? Guaranteed seats for every home game, that sense of belonging, it was awesome!
Fast forward to this year. My team’s killing it! They’re actually good, like, really good. Playoff potential good. So, naturally, my mind goes straight to playoff tickets. I mean, I’m a season ticket holder, right? Surely, that means I’m in, golden ticket and all that jazz. I started daydreaming about those electric playoff games, the roaring crowd, the tension in the air… Yeah, I got a little ahead of myself.
I started digging around, trying to find info on how to secure my playoff tickets. I checked the team’s website, scoured forums, even tried calling the ticket office (which, by the way, is a whole other story of endless hold music and automated messages). And you know what I discovered?

Season tickets don’t automatically include playoff tickets. Yeah, I know, bummer, right? My bubble was officially burst. Apparently, since they don’t even know who’s playing who until the regular season wraps up, they can’t just bundle playoff tickets with the season package.
But, and this is a big BUT, it’s not all doom and gloom. Being a season ticket holder does give you a leg up. We get first dibs, basically. There’s usually a registration process or some kind of lottery system where we can put our names in the hat for the chance to buy playoff tickets. It’s not a guarantee, but it’s definitely better than fighting the general public for scraps. I found that I got earlier access to tickets.
- Stayed glued to my email. Seriously, I was refreshing it like a madman. The team usually sends out all the important info about playoff ticket registration through their mailing list.
- Registered immediately. Once I got the email, I didn’t waste any time. I followed the instructions, filled out the forms, and crossed my fingers.
- Kept an eye on the deadline. There’s always a cutoff for registration, so you gotta be on top of it.
- Prepared for a bit of a lottery. Not all season-ticket holders get a ticket as playoffs mean big money and many of those tickets go to celebrities and VIPs. If you win that lottery you can get the ticket.
- Got my tickets. I successfully got the tickets. That’s why I share this experience with you.
Here’s what I did step-by-step:
So, yeah, it’s a bit more complicated than I initially thought. But hey, being a season ticket holder still has its perks, and getting priority access to playoff tickets is definitely one of them. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some face paint to buy and some chants to practice. Go team!
