So, I’ve been trying to get back into shape lately, and I’ve really been wanting to add some boxing into my routine. It’s a killer workout, you know? Plus, it’s a great way to let off some steam after a long day. Anyway, I remembered I had this 24 Hour Fitness membership that I haven’t used in ages, and I thought, “Hey, maybe they have some boxing bags.”
First things first, I had to check out where the gym was at. I searched online, and, found out that their gyms are all over the place. Turns out there are a bunch of locations pretty close to me. So, I decided to start with the one in the village mall. I hopped in my car and drove over there, hoping they’d have what I was looking for.
I walked in, showed them my membership card, and started looking around. I went through all the cardio machines, weight rooms, and even the sauna area. I noticed they had a bunch of classes like kickboxing and Zumba, which was cool, but I didn’t see a single boxing bag. I was pretty bummed, so I went up to one of the staff members and asked if they had any boxing bags.
The guy at the counter told me that this particular location didn’t have any, but he mentioned that some of their other gyms did. He even suggested the one on Orangewood, near the Angel Stadium. I thanked him, feeling a little defeated, but still determined.
- Went to the 24 Hour Fitness at the village mall.
- Looked around the entire gym, no boxing bags.
- Asked a staff member, was told this location doesn’t have them.
The next day, I decided to give the Orangewood location a shot. It was a bit further, but I was really itching to punch something. I got there, checked in, and started my search again. This time, I went straight to the area where they had all the other heavy equipment, figuring that’s where the bags would be. And guess what?
I found them! They had a few heavy bags hanging there, just waiting to be pummeled. I was so stoked! I grabbed a pair of gloves they had lying around and started going at it. It felt amazing to finally get some punches in. I spent a good hour just working on my jabs, hooks, and uppercuts.
After my workout, I did some research and called some other fitness place like Life Time, LA Fitness to compare if they have heavy bags. Some do, some do not.
So, yeah, it took a bit of searching, but I finally found a 24 Hour Fitness with boxing bags. It’s not at every location, so you definitely have to check. But if you’re like me and you’re looking for a place to get your boxing fix, it’s worth the hunt.
What I found
- Not all 24 Hour Fitness locations have boxing bags.
- The Orangewood location near Angel Stadium has heavy bags.
- It’s a good idea to ask the staff or check their website to see if a specific location has boxing equipment.
Oh, and one more thing, I also saw some freestanding ones on Amazon, but those look more expensive. Anyway, I’m just happy I found a place where I can box. If you’re thinking about joining 24 Hour Fitness and you want to box, just do a little digging to find the right location. Trust me, it’s worth it!
