Alright, let’s talk about this wrestling game, “WWE 2K24”. Folks keep askin’ if it’s “cross platform,” whatever that means. Sounds fancy, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I figured out.
First off, this here game, you can get it on a whole bunch of them “platforms.” You got yer PlayStations, the four and the five, ya know? Then there’s them Xbox thingamajigs, the One and the, uh, X and S. And of course, the computer, the “PC” they call it. So yeah, you can play it on all them different machines. That’s what they mean by “available across multiple platforms,” I reckon.
Now, some folks, they wanna play with their buddies who got different machines. Like, if you got a PlayStation and your friend’s got an Xbox, can ya wrestle each other? Well, that’s where it gets tricky. This here “WWE 2K24,” it ain’t got that fancy “crossplay.” Nope, no crossplay. That means if you’re on PlayStation, you gotta wrestle other PlayStation folks. Xbox folks gotta stick with Xbox folks, and so on. Kinda like how we used to have our own town’s wrestling matches, didn’t go fightin’ folks from the next county over, ya know?

But there’s this other thing, “cross-progression” they call it. Sounds complicated, but it ain’t too bad. See, if you got a PlayStation 4 and then you get yourself a fancy new PlayStation 5, you can keep all yer wrestlin’ progress and stuff. Same goes for the Xboxes. That’s handy, I guess. Ain’t gotta start all over again if you get a new machine.
- Available Platforms: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC
- Crossplay: No, you can only play with people on the same platform.
- Cross-Progression: Yes, between the same console family (PS4 to PS5, Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S).
They say this game came out on March 8th. Folks are excited ’cause it’s got some new stuff. Something about “forty years in the making” and “Showcase of the Immortals.” Sounds like a big deal, all them famous wrestlers and all. And you can play by yerself or wrestle other folks online. They even got this “ranked quickplay” thing, where you can fight other teams and try to be the best. Sounds like hard work to me, but them young folks like that kinda thing.
Now, they also talk about linkin’ yer “2K account” to yer platform. I ain’t sure what that’s all about, but it probably lets ya save yer stuff and maybe get some extra goodies. These youngsters and their technology, always makin’ things complicated!
So, to sum it all up, “WWE 2K24” is on a bunch of different machines, but you can’t wrestle folks on different ones. Ya gotta stick with yer own kind, PlayStation with PlayStation, Xbox with Xbox. But if you get a new machine of the same kind, you can keep all yer stuff. And it sounds like there’s plenty to do in the game, whether you’re playin’ alone or with others. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about wrestlin’ made me hungry!
One more thing! Some other games, like that basketball one, “NBA 2K24,” they got that crossplay thing. But this wrestling one, nope, not yet anyways. Maybe they’ll add it later, who knows? These game makers, they’re always changin’ things up.
