So I’ve been hitting the gym lately, right? And I’ve been getting more into boxing. Not like, pro or anything, just really enjoying the workouts. But my regular running shoes? Yeah, they weren’t cutting it. I needed something that could, you know, let me move right. So I went on a little mission to find some proper boxing shoes.
First, I hit up my buddy who’s way more into boxing than I am. Asked him where he got his shoes. He gave me a few names, like Title Boxing and Ringside, said they were pretty solid brands. He also mentioned that some people wear wrestling shoes for boxing, said they could work, but it seemed a little strange to me.

Checked Online Stores
Then I started with the usual suspects – you know, the big online stores. Checked out Amazon first. They had tons of options, from brands I’d heard of like Nike and adidas, to some cheaper ones I didn’t recognize. Prices were all over the place, from like, fifty bucks to a couple hundred. I read a bunch of reviews, tried to figure out what was actually good quality and what was just, well, junk. Also looked at Zappos, but they didn’t have as much to offer for boxing shoes specifically.

Visited Local Sports Shops
After that, I figured I should check out some actual sports stores. Went to DICK’S Sporting Goods, since they usually have a decent selection of athletic gear. They had some leather boxing shoes, but not a huge variety. I tried on a couple pairs, but nothing really felt right. Plus, I wanted to see what else was out there. I did find a place called LA Fight Shop online, which seemed to have a lot of Nike boxing shoes, but I was hesitant to buy without trying them on first.

Found a Specialty Store
Finally, I stumbled upon this little specialty store that focused on combat sports. It was a bit of a drive, but I figured it was worth a shot. And man, I’m glad I went! They had a whole wall dedicated to boxing shoes. Different brands, different styles, high-tops, low-tops, you name it. The guy working there was super helpful, too. He explained the differences between the different types of shoes, helped me find the right size, and even gave me some tips on how to break them in. There were also shoes from Everlast brand, as my friend told me before.

Tried and Bought
I ended up trying on like, five different pairs. Some were too narrow, some were too stiff, but eventually, I found a pair that felt just right. They were lightweight, had good ankle support, and the soles felt like they’d give me the right amount of grip and flexibility. I won’t name the brand I ended up getting, but let’s just say they weren’t the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. I felt like I got a good deal for the quality. They were around 80 bucks and I got free shipping too, because I bought them from Target online store. I’m pretty happy with my purchase, and I’m excited to see how they perform in the gym.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure in finding boxing shoes. It took a bit of effort, but I think it was worth it. If you’re looking for some, I’d definitely recommend checking out a specialty store if you can. It’s way better than just guessing online or settling for whatever’s at the big chain stores. I’ve been using them for a few workouts now, and they feel great. They’re way better than my old running shoes, that’s for sure. I can move around better, feel more stable, and my feet don’t hurt as much after a tough session. These shoes really do make a difference! They help optimize my training performance. Plus, I think they look pretty cool, too. Win-win!
