Alright, so you wanna be one of them fancy NFL cheerleaders, huh? Listen up, it ain’t all pom-poms and smiles, I tell ya. It’s hard work, real hard work. But if you got the grit, maybe you can make it. Don’t come cryin’ to me if it’s tougher than you thought though!
First off, you gotta be at least 18 years old and have yourself a high school diploma. That’s what they say, them city folk. Back in my day, we didn’t need no fancy paper, but that’s how it is now. No gettin’ around that, I reckon.
Now, these girls, they gotta be dancers, real good dancers. Not just shakin’ your hips at the barn dance, mind you. We’re talkin’ fancy footwork, jumps, and all that jazz. You gotta be flexible too, like a willow branch in the wind. Gotta stretch and practice, every day, I bet. My old bones ache just thinkin’ about it.

And it ain’t just dancin’. You gotta be pretty as a picture, with a smile that could light up the whole county fair. They like ‘em tall and thin mostly, but I seen some shorter ones too. Guess it just depends on what them team fellas like the looks of. You gotta have energy too, lots of it. Gotta keep that smile on your face even when you’re tired as an old mule.
They also say you gotta know about the team, the team’s history and style. Like, who their best players are, when they won their championships, all that stuff. It’s like knowin’ the best time to plant corn or when the fish are bitin’. You gotta be in the know.
And listen to this, they don’t make much money, them cheerleaders. I heard it’s somethin’ like $150 a game, and maybe a little extra for showin’ up at events. That ain’t much, considering all the work they do. You’d probably make more sellin’ pies at the county fair, I tell ya. But I guess some folks just like the bright lights.
- You gotta be at least 18 years old.
- Gotta have a high school diploma, that fancy paper they like.
- You gotta be a dancer, a real good one.
- Gotta be pretty and have a smile that shines.
- You need energy, lots and lots of it.
- Gotta know your team history, like when the fish are bitin’.
They got these auditions, big tryouts where hundreds of girls show up. You gotta learn a dance routine, and they watch you like hawks. They’re lookin’ for the best of the best, so you gotta bring your A-game. And don’t you be late, they ain’t got time for stragglers.
And even if you make the team, it ain’t a done deal. You gotta keep practicin’ and stayin’ in shape. They got practices all summer long, they say. And it ain’t just practices. You gotta show up at games, events, and do charity work. It’s a full-time job, almost, even though it don’t pay like one.
So, you still wanna be an NFL cheerleader? Well, it ain’t gonna be easy, that’s for sure. But if you got the talent, the drive, and the stomach for it, then go on and give it a shot. Just remember what I told ya, it’s more than just shakin’ your pom-poms. It’s hard work, dedication, and a whole lotta sweat. And if you don’t make it, well, there’s always pie sellin’ at the fair. That’s honest work, and the pies are good too.

If you wanna know more, they got this email address: cheerleading@*. I don’t know nothin’ about sendin’ emails, but maybe your young’uns can help ya with that. Good luck, you’ll need it!
One last thing, it takes commitment, hard work, and preparation, not just physical, but mental and emotional too. Them girls gotta be tough as nails, I tell ya. So, if you think you got what it takes, go for it. Just don’t come complainin’ to me if it’s harder than you thought.
That’s all I know about it, so go on now, and chase your dreams. Just make sure you got a good pair of shoes, you’re gonna need ’em.
