Alright, let’s gab about how much them fellas lugging around them big ol’ cameras at NFL games get paid. You know, the ones always zoomin’ in on the quarterback’s sweaty face or that fancy catch. It ain’t no small potatoes, I tell ya.
Now, I ain’t no fancy city slicker with all them degrees, but I done heard some things from my nephew who watches all them sports shows. He says them camera fellas, they call ’em camera operators or somethin’, they make a decent livin’. Some folks sayin’ it’s around $50,000 a year, on average, ya know. That’s a good chunk of change, enough to buy a whole lotta sweet tea and cornbread, I reckon.
But then you got other folks, sayin’ it’s more than that. Heard tell some of them top-notch camera guys, the real fancy ones, can rake in close to $100,000 a year. Shoot, that’s more money than I seen in my whole life! They must be workin’ their tails off, luggin’ them heavy cameras around all day and night.

- So, you got some makin’ maybe $50,000 or $60,000 a year.
- Then you got the real good ones, the ones with the steady hands and the good eyes, makin’ maybe $70,000, $80,000, even up to $100,000.
Now, I don’t rightly know what all goes into figurin’ out how much each fella gets paid. Probably depends on how long they been doin’ it, how good they are at it, and maybe even which team they work for. You know, them big city teams probably pay more than the little ones.
My nephew was also tellin’ me ’bout some other camera fellas, the ones they call cinematographers. Sounds mighty fancy, don’t it? Well, these fellas, they seem to make even more money. I heard some of ’em makin’ over $120,000 a year. Can you believe that? They must be the real artists, the ones makin’ them slow-motion replays look all pretty and dramatic.
And it ain’t just the NFL, ya know. Them basketball fellas, the NBA, they got camera guys too. And the sports channels like ESPN, they got their own folks as well. Heard tell they makin’ around $66,000 to $75,000 a year, give or take. That’s still pretty good money, ain’t it?
Now, them NFL games, they’re a big deal. They got like a dozen or more cameras at each game, and a whole bunch of people workin’ behind the scenes. My nephew says they got like 150 to 200 people workin’ at each game just to make sure we can see everything on TV. That’s a whole lotta folks!
And get this, some folks get paid by the day. Like, if they only need ya for a day or two, they might pay ya a few hundred dollars just for that day. Heard tell it could be somethin’ like $230 to $415 a day, dependin’ on how long you work and what kind of camera work you doin’. That ain’t bad neither, specially if you can get a few days of work each week.
So, there ya have it. Them camera fellas at the NFL games, they makin’ a pretty penny. It ain’t easy work, luggin’ them cameras around and makin’ sure you get the right shot, but it pays the bills, that’s for sure. And it lets folks like me, sittin’ at home in my easy chair, enjoy the game without havin’ to be there in person.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some more sweet tea. All this talk about money and cameras is makin’ me thirsty.
