Alright, let’s talk about this “crossplay” thing with the WWE game, ya know, the wrestling one. I hear folks talkin’ about it, so I figured I’d try and make sense of it all, even though I ain’t no fancy computer person.
So, first things first, what in tarnation is crossplay anyway? From what I gather, it’s supposed to mean you can play with your buddies even if they got a different game machine than you. Like, you got that Play-Stay-shun thingy and they got that X-Box, you should still be able to wrestle each other, right? That’s what they tell me, anyways.
Now, about this here WWE 2K24 game… Well, it ain’t quite that simple, see? They say it’s “available across multiple platforms.” That just means you can buy the game for different machines, like the Play-Stay-shun 4 or 5, or the X-Box One or that X-Box Series S or X thing. It don’t mean you can play together across them different machines, though.

Seems like a whole lotta fuss for nothin’ if you ask me. You can only wrestle with folks who got the same machine as you. Play-Stay-shun 5 folks can only wrestle other Play-Stay-shun 5 folks, and so on. It’s like havin’ a party but only invitin’ folks from the same street. What’s the fun in that?
They call it “same console” play. Means you gotta be on the same team, the same machine, to play together. It’s a darn shame, really. My nephew, he’s got that X-Box thing, and I got the Play-Stay-shun. We wanted to wrestle each other, but this crossplay thing ain’t workin’ like we thought it would.
- So, no, you can’t wrestle your buddy on a different machine.
- Play-Stay-shun folks gotta stick with Play-Stay-shun folks.
- X-Box folks gotta stick with X-Box folks.
- And that computer crowd, they gotta stick with their own kind too.
They also talk about somethin’ called “cross-progression.” Now, this is a bit different. It means if you start playin’ on, say, a Play-Stay-shun 4, and then you get yourself a fancy Play-Stay-shun 5, your game stuff moves with you. Your wrestlers, your points, all that jazz. That’s kinda handy, I guess. But it still don’t let you wrestle folks on different machines, mind you.
It’s all a bit confusin’ if you ask me. They make it sound all fancy with their “cross-platform” and “cross-generation” talk, but it all boils down to this: you gotta be on the same machine to play together. No cross-wrestlin’ allowed, I guess.
I heard some other games let you play together no matter what machine you got. Like that basketball game, the NBA one? They figured it out, so why can’t these wrestling folks? Seems like they’re a bit behind the times, if you ask me. Maybe they’ll fix it later, maybe they won’t. Who knows with these city folk and their fancy gadgets.
So, the bottom line is, WWE 2K24 ain’t got that crossplay thing everyone’s talkin’ about. You’re stuck wrestlin’ with folks on the same machine as you. It’s a bummer, but that’s how it is. Maybe next year they’ll figure it out, and me and my nephew can finally settle who’s the best wrestler, Play-Stay-shun versus X-Box and all.

Anyway, that’s the long and short of it. Don’t go gettin’ your hopes up about wrestlin’ just anyone, cause it ain’t happenin’ in this here WWE 2K24 game. You gotta stick with your own kind, console-wise, ya hear?
And that’s all I gotta say about that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about wrestlin’ and machines has made me hungry.
