Well, now, if you’re askin’ who is the speed champion in WWE, let me tell ya, it’s been a wild ride. They got this thing called the WWE Speed Championship. It ain’t no regular championship, nope. This here championship’s all about fast action, quick moves, and folks zippin’ ‘round that ring like their feet are on fire. You won’t see no slow, drawn-out fights with this one. Every match’s got a time limit of just five minutes, so you gotta move fast if you wanna win.
Now, let’s talk about the history a bit. Back in March of 2024, WWE decided to start this whole Speed Championship thing. They made it official with a big announcement, and sure enough, folks been buzzin’ ever since. But the real fun started on February 9, 2024, when WWE teamed up with X to show this Speed series on the internet. It was a big deal. They even called it WWE Speed. If you didn’t see it, well, you missed a whole lotta action, lemme tell ya.
The first person to hold that WWE Speed Championship was Ricochet. He beat Johnny Gargano in a big match on May 3, 2024, and it wasn’t no easy win, either. Those two fought hard, back and forth, and it was a real nail-biter. But in the end, Ricochet came out on top. He was the first-ever WWE Speed Champion. Folks sure remembered that one. Ricochet earned that title fair and square.

But, as with all things, nothing stays the same for long. The reign of Ricochet didn’t last forever. Nope. On June 7, 2024, in a match that aired a week later on June 14, Andrade came in and took that title away from Ricochet. He won it on WWE Speed, and that marked the start of his reign. Andrade, he’s got himself that Speed Championship now, and he’s holdin’ onto it tight.
Now, I’m sure you’re wonderin’, “What’s next for this Speed Championship?” Well, let me tell ya, there’s more action comin’. On October 4, 2024, there was another big match to crown the next champion. This time, Candice LeRae went up against Iyo Sky in the tournament final. And guess what? Candice LeRae, from SmackDown, pulled off a big win. She took down Iyo Sky, and that made her the new WWE Speed Champion. Her reign officially started on October 9, 2024. So now, Candice LeRae’s the one to beat in that speed ring.
In case you were wonderin’, this whole WWE Speed thing ain’t just for show. It’s all about fast-paced action, and the folks who get into it gotta be quick. That’s why they call it Speed, after all. So, if you like a good, fast match, where there’s no time to waste, you best be watchin’ WWE Speed. You never know who’s gonna take that title next, but one thing’s for sure, there’s always somethin’ goin’ on, and it sure don’t move slow!
