Well now, lemme tell ya, tennis coaches, they ain’t all made the same. Some make a decent livin’, some just scrapin’ by. It’s like farmin’, some years the crops are good, some years ya barely break even.
So, how much do these tennis coaches make? That’s the million-dollar question, ain’t it? I heard tell some of them fancy coaches, the ones trainin’ the big shots, they can rake in the dough. Like, maybe a hundred thousand dollars a year, or even more! Can ya imagine? That’s more money than most folks in my town see in a lifetime.
- But them fellers, they’re the cream of the crop, ya know? The ones travelin’ all over the world with them tennis stars.
- Most coaches, they ain’t livin’ that high life.
I heard some of the younger fellers, just startin’ out, they might only make twenty-five thousand a year, or even less. That ain’t much, let me tell ya. You gotta hustle, work long hours, and even then, it ain’t always enough to make ends meet.

Then there’s the average Joe coach, workin’ at a club or a school. They might make somewhere between forty and fifty thousand dollars a year. That’s a livin’, I guess, but it ain’t gonna make ya rich. You know, it’s like workin’ at the local diner, you get by, but you ain’t gettin’ rich.
Now, the amount a coach makes depends on a whole bunch of things. It’s like sellin’ eggs, the bigger the eggs, the more ya get for ’em. Same with coaching. The more experience ya got, the better players you’ve trained, the more money you can make. And where you work matters too. A fancy club in the city gonna pay more than a little ol’ court out in the sticks, that’s for sure.
I also heard tell that some coaches, they get paid by the hour. Like, eighteen bucks an hour or somethin’. That ain’t bad, I reckon, but ya gotta put in the hours to make a decent paycheck. And some, they get a fixed fee for trainin’ sessions, or maybe even bonuses if their player does real good. It’s all a bit complicated, if ya ask me.
And them big-time coaches, the ones trainin’ the famous players? Well, they make a whole different kinda money. I heard if a player wins a million dollars, the coach might get a hundred thousand, or even more. It’s like sharecroppin’ , the more the land produces, the more you get. That’s a pretty good deal, I reckon, if you can find a player good enough to win big.
There was this one fella, coached some big Serbian player, made a whole lot of money. Heard it was like half a million euros or somethin’ like that. Can you believe it? That’s more money than I can even wrap my head around. But then again, that’s the top of the heap, ya know? Most coaches, they just tryin’ to make a livin’, teachin’ kids how to swing a racket and hit that fuzzy yellow ball.
So, there ya have it. Being a tennis coach, it ain’t a get-rich-quick scheme. But if you love the game and you’re good at what you do, you can make a decent livin’. It’s like anything in life, ya gotta work hard and be good at what ya do. Just like bakin’ a good pie, takes time, effort, and a whole lotta love.
