Well, well, well, looks like we got ourselves a good ol’ talk about them two big fellers, Demolition! Now, I ain’t got no fancy words for this, but let me tell ya, if there ever was a tag team that needed to be in the WWE Hall of Fame, it’s them boys, Ax and Smash. Been around the block a few times, those two, and sure did leave their mark. Folks been talkin’ ’bout it for years now, why ain’t they in there yet?
Now, them two, they were something else, weren’t they? Ax and Smash, known to most folks as Demolition, they came up in the wrestling world and just stomped their way to the top. Big ol’ bruisers they were, rough ‘round the edges, and they didn’t care who they had to knock down to get what they wanted. People loved ’em, folks hated ’em, but they couldn’t ignore ’em. That’s how you know you’re doing something right in this business, when you get folks talkin’ ‘bout ya every which way, ya know?
But here’s the kicker – despite all that success and them being as legendary as they are, they still ain’t made it into the Hall of Fame. Now, that’s a head-scratcher, ain’t it? All the big names have been inducted, and here’s Demolition, still sittin’ on the sidelines. Some say it’s ‘cause of a little mess they got caught up in a few years back. Back in 2016, there was some kind of lawsuit thing with the company. Now, I ain’t one for all them legal terms, but I reckon that’s why they’re still waitin’ for their moment in the spotlight.

After they left WWF, them boys didn’t just disappear into the background. Nah, they kept their name alive on the indie circuit, tryin’ to keep the Demolition spirit goin’. Bill Eadie, the fella who went by Ax, even started usin’ the name “Axis the Demolisher” when he was out there fightin’. He even tried to bring ol’ Barry Colley (Smash) and another fella, Carmine Azzato, into the fold under the name “Demolition Blast.” But would you believe it? The big company sent ‘em a cease and desist letter, tryin’ to shut ‘em down. Can’t say I blame ’em for tryin’, though. A good gimmick is hard to come by.
Now, some folks say it’s still a long shot for Demolition to make it into the Hall of Fame, but you know, I reckon there’s a chance. You hear about how things have changed up in the WWE, what with new management and all? Might just be the right time for them to finally get their due. After all, these boys were a cornerstone for tag team wrestling, and there’s still a lotta love for ‘em out there.
And y’all know that if they do get inducted, there’s gotta be some kind of big ol’ ceremony for it. I heard tell that Paul Heyman’s gonna be part of the 2024 class, along with folks like Bull Nakano and Thunderbolt Patterson. That’s mighty fine company to be in, I reckon. So, if the powers that be do decide to finally put Demolition in the Hall of Fame, they sure won’t be the only ones takin’ their place this year. But I sure do hope they don’t miss out on it – they earned it!
So, what’s the hold-up? Well, from what I’ve been hearin’, WWE’s been busy tryin’ to figure out what they want for the Hall of Fame building. I mean, there was talk a few years ago about makin’ a physical Hall of Fame, but then the pandemic hit, and things got delayed. Ain’t no tellin’ when it’ll be finished, but I do hope it don’t keep Demolition from gettin’ the honor they deserve.
What’s next for Demolition? Well, that’s the big question, ain’t it? I reckon they’ve been patiently waitin’ their turn, but don’t be surprised if it happens soon. With the way things are goin’, it seems like them boys are in better graces with the company now than they were before. The fact that Bill Eadie and Barry Colley are even talkin’ about it again is a good sign. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll see ’em get that big ol’ Hall of Fame ring they’ve been long overdue for.
Why do they deserve it? Well, lemme tell ya, Demolition ain’t just some ol’ tag team. They were tough as nails and could throw down with the best of ‘em. They didn’t just show up – they made an impact. They put tag team wrestling on the map and gave the fans something to remember. So, when folks ask if they belong in the Hall of Fame, my answer is a resounding “Yes!” It’s high time we see Ax and Smash get their due.

So, here’s hopin’ that in 2024, when they announce them Hall of Fame inductees, we hear that Demolition’s name on that list. If there’s ever a time for them to get their moment, it’s now. They earned it, plain and simple.
