Okay, so I got really into boxing documentaries lately, and it got me thinking about the legends from back in the day. The 80s, man, what a time for boxing! So, I started digging around to refresh my memory on who the big names were.
First, I fired up my trusty search engine. Just typed in “famous boxers 80s” to get the ball rolling. I figured that would give me a good overview.
My Research Process
- Started with a broad search. I wanted to cast a wide net and see what names popped up most frequently.
- Then, I started making a list. I literally just grabbed a piece of paper and jotted down any boxer that seemed to be a big deal in the 80s.
- After that, I went deeper on each name. I wanted to know more than just their names, I wanted their stories, their big fights, their records… the whole nine yards.
- I even checked out some old fight posters and images to find and save.
It was cool seeing all these names, some I remembered clearly, others were like, “Oh yeah, THAT guy!” It brought back a ton of memories, even if I only saw some of the fights later on.
After I had my list and did some reading, I felt like I had a pretty good handle on the major players of that era. It’s amazing how dominant some of these guys were. True legends of the sport!
