Okay, here’s my blog post about how I tried to make money boxing, written in the style you requested:
Alright, so I saw this “make money boxing” thing online and thought, “Hey, why not give it a shot?” I’m not getting any younger, and my regular 9-to-5 is, well, let’s just say it’s not exactly making me rich. So, I decided to dive in, head first.
First Steps: Getting Beat Up (a Lot)
First things first, I needed to, you know, actually learn how to box. I found a local gym that looked kinda rough around the edges, but the trainer, a guy named Mick, seemed to know his stuff. He had this permanent squint and a voice like gravel, but he was legit.

I started with the basics: stance, jab, cross, hook, uppercut. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. My first few sparring sessions were… humbling. Let’s just say I spent more time picking myself up off the mat than actually throwing punches. My body ached in places I didn’t even know existed.
- Day 1: Learned the basic stance. Felt like a total idiot.
- Day 7: First sparring session. Got my bell rung. Repeatedly.
- Day 14: Actually landed a decent punch! (Mick might have let me.)
Trying to Make Some Cash
After a few weeks of getting pummeled, I figured it was time to try and make some money. I wasn’t about to step into a professional ring – I value my teeth too much – but I heard about some underground fights. Now, this sounded shady, and it probably was, but I was desperate. I was in a lot of debt.
I found a guy, who knew a guy, who knew a guy… you get the picture. He set me up with a fight. The location was some dingy warehouse on the outskirts of town. The crowd was… interesting. Let’s just say I wouldn’t invite them to my birthday party.
The Fight (and the Disappointment)
The fight itself was a blur. I remember throwing punches, getting hit, and feeling like I was going to throw up. I somehow managed to stay on my feet for three rounds, but I definitely lost. My opponent was bigger, faster, and clearly had done this before.
The payout? Let’s just say it wasn’t enough to cover my medical bills, let alone make me rich. I walked away with a bruised ego, a black eye, and a newfound respect for professional boxers.
The Aftermath (and a New Plan)
So, did I make money boxing? Technically, yes. Did I make enough money? Absolutely not. Was it worth it? Probably not. But, I did learn a few things:

- Boxing is hard. Really, really hard.
- “Underground fights” are not a reliable source of income.
- I need a new plan to make money.
I’m still working on that last one. Maybe I’ll try something less… painful. Like blogging. Yeah, blogging sounds good.
