Okay, folks, let’s dive into this Fury vs. Ngannou scorecard thing I messed around with today. It wasn’t anything fancy, just wanted to see how I’d score the fight myself.
So, first thing I did was fire up my laptop, I wanted a clean slate to jot down my scores round by round. No need for some high-tech software, My old notepad is enough for me.
Next, the important part: I rewatched the fight. It is my way. I’ve got my own way to score it. I paid super close attention, trying to be as objective as possible (easier said than done, right?). I make sure have a pen and paoer next to me.

My Scoring Process
Now, for the actual scoring. I used the good old 10-point must system, which is pretty standard. Here’s the basic way.
- 10-9: For the normal round. One fighter clearly wins, but it’s not a blowout.
- 10-8: For the fighter dominated the round, maybe scored a knockdown or came close to finishing the fight.
- 10-7: It should be the totally dominated round, I think I never give this score.
After each round, I immediately write down my scores. I try not to overthink it, just go with my gut feeling based on what I saw. Clean punches landed, effective aggression, ring control, and defense – all that jazz factored in. It’s the most important thing.
I have to admit, there were a couple of rounds that were REALLY tough to score. Sometimes it felt like both guys were just feeling each other out, or maybe one landed a good shot but the other came back strong. In those cases, I really had to rely on those core scoring criteria to make a decision.
Finally, after watching all rounds, I tallied up the scores from each round to get my final scorecard. I compared my final result to the official result.
It was a fun little exercise. I use my own experience to make this work. That’s all I want to share today!
