Okay, so I was messing around online today and got curious about something – does Virginia have its own NFL team? I mean, they’re right there next to Washington D.C., which does have a team, so it seemed like a legit question.
First, I did what anyone would do – I Googled it. Typed in “Virginia NFL team,” real simple. The results were kinda all over the place, mostly talking about the Washington Commanders.
So, I dug a little deeper. I started looking at the history of the Commanders. Turns out, They used to train in Virginia, and even have some of their office are locate at Virginia.

- I checked out some fan forums. Lots of debate there! Some people were saying “Absolutely not, the Commanders are D.C.’s team!” Others were pointing out the Virginia connections and arguing they at least kinda represent Virginia too.
- Then I thought, maybe I should look at the official NFL website. Surely they would have a clear answer. Nope! They just list the teams by their names, not their specific locations.
After all this, I’ve gotta say, it’s not a simple yes or no. Officially, Virginia doesn’t have its own NFL team. But, practically speaking, the Washington Commanders have strong ties to the state. So, I guess it depends on how you look at it!
