Alright, so today I wanted to share how I boiled my mouthguard for football. It was actually easier than I thought it would be.
First, I grabbed a small pot from the kitchen and filled it with enough water to fully cover the mouthguard. I placed it on the stove and turned the heat to high. I waited until the water came to a rolling boil.
While I was waiting, I made sure my mouthguard was clean. I just rinsed it under some cold water. Once the water was boiling, I carefully dropped the mouthguard into the pot using tongs, because I don’t want to burn my fingers.

Boiling Time
- I boiled it for about 30 seconds. It’s important not to boil it for too long, otherwise, it might lose its shape.
After 30 seconds, I used the tongs again to take it out and immediately dipped it into a bowl of cold water for just a second to cool it down a bit.
Then, I put the warm mouthguard in my mouth and bit down hard for about 30-45 seconds. I also pressed it against my teeth with my fingers and sucked in to really get a good fit around my teeth and gums.
Once I was happy with the fit, I took it out and placed it back in the cold water for a few minutes to help it set in that shape.
And that’s it! Now I have a mouthguard that fits perfectly and is ready for the football field. It was a pretty simple process, and I’m glad I learned how to do it myself.
