Okay, so, I wanted to figure out how to watch NFL games on my Apple TV. It wasn’t super obvious at first, but I got it sorted out.
First off, I realized that the regular Apple TV+ subscription doesn’t include NFL games. That was a bummer. Turns out, the NFL has its own subscriptions or you need other services.
Getting Started
I started poking around and found out that there are a few ways to go about this. I could use the official NFL app, or there are other streaming services that carry the games.

- NFL App: The first thing I did was download the official NFL app from the App Store on my Apple TV. It was pretty easy to find.
Subscription
After I open the NFL app, I found that I can’t watch any live game directly. NFL has its own subscription(s): Paramount+/Hulu/YouTube TV/FuboTV/NFL Game Pass/ Prime Video/ Sling. And there are CBS, Fox, NBC that offer NFL games.
- Other services: I also checked out some other streaming services like Paramount+, Hulu, YouTube TV, FuboTV, and Sling. Some of them offer live TV packages that include the channels that broadcast NFL games. And some of them offers CBS, Fox, NBC. Finally, I subscribed to YouTube TV. I found that it offers a wide range of channels, including those that broadcast NFL games.
After subscribing to YouTube TV, I can watch NFL games live, see scores, news and other information about NFL.
So, yeah, that’s basically it. It took a bit of trial and error, but now I can watch NFL games on my Apple TV. It’s not as straightforward as just having it on Apple TV+, but it works!
