Alright, listen up, y’all. Headaches after boxing, huh? Happens to the best of ’em, even those big strong fellas on TV. Don’t you go worryin’ your pretty little head about it. I’ve seen my share of bumps and bruises, and I know a thing or two about fixin’ ’em.
First off, if your head’s poundin’ like a drum after a fight, you gotta take it easy. No more jumpin’ around like a chicken with its head cut off. Sit yourself down, maybe lie down if you can. Rest is key, you hear? Just like when you work all day in the fields, you need to rest your body, same goes for your head.
Now, some folks, they like to put somethin’ cold on their head. Like a bag of frozen peas or somethin’. Works wonders, they say. Just wrap it up in a towel, don’t go puttin’ it straight on your skin, that ain’t right. Keep it on for a bit, then take it off for a bit. Like 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off. That’s what my niece told me, and she reads them fancy magazines.

And if that ain’t doin’ the trick, well, you can always take some of them pills from the drugstore. You know, the ones for pain. Aspirin, ibuprofen, them kinda things. They got all sorts of names, but they all do pretty much the same thing – make the hurtin’ stop. But don’t go poppin’ ’em like candy, you hear? Follow the instructions on the bottle, or ask the pharmacist if you ain’t sure.
- Another thing you can try is rubbin’ your head and neck. Not too hard, mind you, just gentle like. Sometimes, those muscles get all tensed up, and that’s what’s causin’ the headache. So, loosenin’ ’em up a bit can help. My grandma used to do this all the time, said it worked like a charm. And she lived to be a hundred, so she musta known somethin’.
Now, if you’re one of them folks who gets all stressed out and worried, that can make your headache worse. You gotta learn to relax. Maybe try some of that yoga stuff, or just sit quiet and breathe deep. My neighbor, she does that meditation thing, sits there with her eyes closed, and she says it calms her right down. Worth a try, I reckon.
If your head still hurts after all that, well, then you might need to go see a doctor. Ain’t no shame in that. They got all sorts of fancy machines and medicines these days, they can figure out what’s wrong and get you fixed up. Don’t you go toughin’ it out if you don’t have to. Your health is important, you hear?
And listen, drinkin’ plenty of water is important too. Keeps your body workin’ right. And eatin’ good food, that helps too. Don’t go fillin’ yourself up with junk, give your body the fuel it needs to heal. It’s like puttin’ good gas in your car, makes it run better, you know?
And for those fancy boxers, the ones who do it for a livin’, they got their own ways of doin’ things. They drink lots of water, move their heads just so, and wear them big ol’ helmets to protect themselves. They got coaches and doctors tellin’ ’em what to do. So, if you’re serious about boxin’, you might wanna learn from them.
So, there you have it. A few things you can do if your head’s hurtin’ after boxin’. Rest, somethin’ cold, pills, rubbin’, relaxin’, doctor, water, and good food. That’s about all there is to it. Just remember to take care of yourself, and you’ll be alright.

And don’t go boxin’ with nobody bigger than you, you hear? That’s just askin’ for trouble.
