Well, well, well, let me tell you somethin’ about this AEW Rampage show. You know, folks been talkin’ about it all over the place, especially with how the numbers been lookin’ lately. Now, the week of November 8th, 2024, AEW Rampage didn’t exactly knock it outta the park, but it sure wasn’t all bad. Them folks over at TNT got some folks to tune in, so let’s have a good ol’ chit-chat about them viewership numbers.
So, here’s the scoop—last Friday’s AEW Rampage episode pulled in about 237,000 viewers. Now, some of y’all might be thinkin’, “Well, that’s not a whole lot, right?” And you’re right, it ain’t no big ol’ number like those WWE folks get on their Monday night show. But compared to the week before, it’s a bit of a bump. I reckon it went up by about 0.3% in viewers, and you know what? It did even better in that 18-49 age range, with a nice little increase of 1.1%. Not too shabby, huh?
Now, there’s something real important I gotta mention, and that’s the younger crowd, the 18-34 folks. For them, AEW Rampage was up a whopping 25.9%! That’s a big ol’ jump, but before you get too excited, don’t forget this number is still down by a good chunk compared to last year. I’m talkin’ ‘bout a 16.1% drop in total viewers when you compare it to the same week last year. A little dip, but not too much for folks to start pullin’ their hair out just yet. We’re all used to seein’ these things go up and down like a roller coaster!

If we’re gonna look at this thing long-term, it ain’t lookin’ all bad either. AEW Rampage has been doin’ alright for itself over the past three weeks. This week, it hit a 0.10 rating in that 18-49 demographic, and while it still ain’t sky-high, it’s somethin’ to hold onto for now. A little bump in them ratings is always better than a drop, as we all know. But don’t go thinkin’ everything’s sunshine and roses, ’cause there’s still room for improvement.
One thing I noticed, though, is the fact that AEW Rampage has had a rough time holdin’ onto them younger viewers. That 18-34 demographic, which was down by more than 60% last year at the same time, is still a bit of a struggle for AEW. But maybe it’s just how them younger folks are, always changin’ up their favorite shows like they change socks! It’s a tough crowd to please, I tell ya.
Now, don’t go thinkin’ this is all AEW’s fault, ‘cause there’s plenty of competition out there. You got that WWE NXT show, always runnin’ its mouth about how it’s beatin’ the competition. For instance, WWE’s NXT got about 619,000 viewers, and that ain’t no small potatoes, especially when you consider how things’ve been shakin’ out in the ratings war. But even with all that, AEW Rampage is still holdin’ its ground. I’d say it’s like a small farm next to a big ol’ factory; it may not be big, but it’s still standin’ strong!
So, what does all this mean for AEW Rampage in the future? Well, folks, it’s hard to say. AEW’s been gettin’ better in some ways, and worse in others. With them younger folks a bit lost in the shuffle, and viewership still a bit shaky, they might need to shake things up if they wanna keep climbin’. Maybe they’ll add some new faces or change up the storylines. Who knows? The future’s always a mystery, just like when I go to the mailbox and find out if I got a letter or just a bill. But don’t go countin’ them out just yet—AEW Rampage still has some fight left in it!
To sum it up, AEW Rampage had a decent showin’ this week, with a bit of a bump in viewers and ratings. But they’re still lookin’ for ways to hold onto that younger crowd and keep ’em comin’ back for more. I’d say it’s gonna take a little bit of work and a whole lotta patience to see them big numbers again, but ain’t no need to panic just yet. With a little luck and a lotta hard work, they might just turn things around. We’ll just have to wait and see!
