Well, well, well… looks like there’s big news comin’ about that WWE Network. Y’know, that thing where folks could watch all them wrestlin’ matches and shows, like Raw, SmackDown, and NXT? Well, it ain’t gonna be around much longer, not in the way it was. They say by the end of 2024, the WWE Network’s gonna start closin’ down some of its parts. And by January 2025, you won’t be seein’ them shows on the old WWE Network anymore, ’cause they’re gonna be moved to a new spot for folks outside the US. Yep, it’s all goin’ to another service. Real big changes comin’.
Now, ya might be wonderin’, what in the world happened to the WWE Network? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t like it was before. See, back in 2021, WWE started slowly pullin’ that Network outta some places, takin’ it down bit by bit. And folks in the United States, well, they were already switched over to NBC Universal’s Peacock by then, back in April 2021, ’cause WWE sold the network to ’em. That’s right, no more WWE Network standin’ alone in the US, it was all rolled into Peacock. That made things a bit easier for folks, but also meant WWE wasn’t doin’ their own thing no more.
It’s a real shame, I reckon. A lot of folks loved that WWE Network, especially when they could catch all the big shows right there, without havin’ to pay extra cable bills or anything. But like with anything, things change. The WWE musta seen the viewership droppin’, and well, them big companies always lookin’ at the numbers. When you add all that up – fewer people watchin’, some changes in what WWE’s focusin’ on, and the costs addin’ up – they musta thought it was time to shut it down. Some folks say it was the deal they made with Netflix that really set the clock tickin’ down on the Network.

So what’s gonna happen now? Well, if you want your Monday Night Raw fix, or SmackDown or NXT, you’ll gotta find ’em on a new platform. WWE made a deal to move them shows to a streaming service that’s all fancy and ready for folks across the globe, not just in the US. Now, I don’t know all the details, but sounds like you’ll have to start payin’ for that new service to keep watchin’. I reckon the price might go up a bit, too. That’s how these things usually go, ain’t it?
But don’t get too upset, y’all. I know it’s a big change, and nobody likes changes all the time. But I figure, if you’ve been watchin’ for all these years, you’ll probably get used to it soon enough. Change is just part of life, right? And don’t forget, WWE still got a lot of fans out there, so they ain’t gonna let you down too easily. They’re just makin’ sure they keep up with the times, just like everything else.
Now, I’m sure there’s a whole lot more folks wonderin’ when exactly it’s all gonna happen. Well, as I said, the big shutdown of the WWE Network starts at the end of 2024. If you’ve been watchin’ on that old platform, better get ready to switch things up come January 2025. So, don’t wait ‘til the last minute to make them changes! You don’t wanna miss your favorite show just ‘cause you didn’t know where to go!
So, what can we learn from all this? First off, WWE’s tryin’ to keep up with the modern world and all these new streaming services. The old way wasn’t workin’ as good as it used to, and now, it looks like they’re movin’ with the times. Some folks might not like it, but that’s how things go. The ol’ WWE Network might be gone, but wrestling’s still gonna be around, just in a new spot. So, keep your eyes peeled, and get ready for the changes comin’ your way in 2025.
Here’s a few things to remember:
- The WWE Network will shut down by the end of 2024.
- WWE’s programming, including Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, will be moved to a new streaming service outside the US by January 2025.
- In the US, WWE Network is now part of NBC’s Peacock streaming platform since April 2021.
- Changes are comin’, but WWE’s not goin’ anywhere!
So, there ya have it. A whole lotta changes in the WWE world, but don’t worry too much. Just keep watchin’, and you’ll find your way to the new home for all them wrestlin’ shows.
